As someone who loves creating and reading books, I decided to design bookmarks inspired by what I consider magical events. My goal was to create playful and vibrant imagery that could work together as a set, but unique enough to work on their own.
When coming up with ideas, I first thought about moments that bring me joy. A field of vibrant flowes, the sound of waves and the warmth of the sun, a dreamy sky full of stars, and the times we fall in love.
DESIGN PROCESS
I began by sketching loose ideas for each bookmark. Next, I tighten the concepts into refined sketches and researched mood images and color palettes that went well with each illustration.
Then I added color in a loose and painterly manner, helping the illustrations feel organic while still having a geometric structure. Lastly, I added the corresponding phrases as I played around with the fonts and layout.
